Dreaming with open eyes.

One should not only photograph things for what they are but for what else they are. Minor White

I live in Houston, Texas, where I make photographs of the “what else.” I use my camera to show a different view of familiar things and to experience the world with wide-eyed wonder.

My process involves artful wandering, intentional camera movement, multiple exposures, and creative editing. I love to blur the boundary between what’s real and what’s imagined, to make the viewer pause and ponder what she/he is seeing.

I am grateful for mentors who have shaped my approach to making art. Deep thanks to Valda Bailey, Doug Chinnery, Susan Burnstine, Eddie Soloway, and Peter Brown for their inspiration and support.

My work has been exhibited at Houston Center for Photography, Fotofest, PhotoPlace Gallery, ASmith Gallery, Rice University, Lawndale Art Center, SE Center for Photography, Texas Photographic Society, Praxis Gallery, and Visual Arts Alliance. My photographs have been published in Arts+Culture Texas, CultureMap, Houston Press, Houston Chronicle, and Symphony Magazine
